About Us

Bellarine Academy of Dance was established in 1999 by Kellie Williamson.  From humble beginning’s in a church hall in Leopold with 4 students, the school has now grown to be the premier dance school on the Bellarine Peninsula with over 200 students focusing on ballet, jazz and contemporary dance.

Having moved into a new purpose built facility, we are now developing a wider range of styles and classes to suit the needs of all dancers in the region, whether it be ongoing professional work or the once a week casual dancer that participates for the love of it.

Our goals are simple – to provide quality, professional dance training for all students in a safe and nurturing environment.

Our dancers strive to achieve their personal best, while gaining confidence, growing friendships and making memories that last forever.

The primary focus is on classical ballet technique which provides a strong foundation for all other dance forms. Our goal for the recreational dancer is to gain self-confidence through the physical and mental accomplishments that come from positive dance instruction. The professional background of the directors and staff will provide the more serious student with the knowledge and training necessary to prepare for a career in dance.

We believe that each young artist’s experience at Bellarine Academy of Dance will be influential in their lives and future. From preschool age children to VCE students, our faculty is geared to your dancer’s goals.

We promote the physical and social benefits of dance, including cardiovascular strength, balance, flexibility, co-ordination, team-work skills, attentive listening, self-discipline and self-confidence when stepping out onto the stage.  Our teachers strive to promote all these attributes and encourage our students to carry them through life, no matter what paths they choose.

Bellarine Academy of Dance is housed in a 360 square foot facility with two large studios equipped with state of the art sprung flooring, mirrors and barres.  The facility has changing facilities and a large waiting area. Small viewing windows are available in Studio 1.
